Kaanapali is located in Maui County, Hawaii. It is a small city having a population over 1300 inhabitants. Kaanapali is situated at 20°56'5" North, 156°40'46" West. It is a small tourist resort town near the shore of Maui with views of the islands of Lanai and Molokai.
There is something for everyone in Kaanapali. You can enjoy a walk on its amazing beaches that are steps away from your hotel room, take a sun bath, enjoy a sailing adventure to the island of Lanai where dolphins or whales can be admired or buy a pair of Billabong boots in a shop downtown. The beaches of Kaanapali are so amazing that in 2003 the resort community of Kaanapali was named "America's Best Beach". The white coral sand bathed by clear, emerald green water makes the beach of Kaanapali the main attraction point.
For the snorkeling fans the best place to practice this sport is in the waters surrounding Kekaa (also known as "Black Rock") at the northern end of the beach. The range of activities that can be done in Kaanapali is without limit. You can enjoy a professional massage in a beachside tent, play beach volleyball, tennis of golf (in a 36 holes golf court), kayak, swim, practice windsurfing, parasailing, or body boarding, lounge under the Hawaiian sun or sleep in a hammock. You can also have dinner in an open-air restaurant, shop in a beachfront shopping complex or visit the free whaling museum.
Tourist can learn about Kaanapali's culture watching a hula show or musical performance, learn Hawaiian lauhala weaving, quilting and lei-making. Other activities include horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, aerial sightseeing and historical walking tours.
